Meet Annelee Le Grange – the dynamic leader of the RSAWEB Business division

Annelee Le Grange honed her professional skills in stakeholder management, local and international sales, and business transformation roles across various industries over the past two decades. She joined RSAWEB as the Head of RSAWEB Business in October 2022, bringing valuable experience to the team in the ever-evolving information and communication technology (ICT) industry.  

We caught up with Annelee to learn more about her insights into the business world, plans for RSAWEB Business, how she views the role of women in business, and what she is passionate about in life.

What factors led you to choose RSAWEB and take on the leadership role within the enterprise division? 

As I learned more about RSAWEB, I realised the company’s energy, focus and objectives aligned to my values and way of work. I was attracted to the challenge and the opportunity to take an existing business and steer it in a different direction with the future in mind, which is the business-to-business (B2B) model that we apply. When it came to decision making time for what the next step in my career should be, it was an obvious choice to take on the role as Head of Enterprise at RSAWEB in the Business division. 

With RSAWEB being a dominant ISP for twenty plus years, it retained its agility and the ability for individuals to influence growth. It was also exceptionally exciting for me that we get to build solutions and create our own products, package it and take it to market. Overall, it was the single focus on changing a business and gearing it up for the future to solidify its presence as one of the top three business internet service providers (ISPs) in South Africa. 

As a leader in the B2B technology sector, how do your unique perspectives and experiences contribute to your role?

My across various industries laid the foundation for my successful sales career, where I aimed to excel and became one of the top professionals in the industry. Transitioning from sales to management and ultimately leadership required ongoing support from mentors with vast experience and coaching expertise.  

Coaching played a pivotal role, helping me assess my strengths and weaknesses, and fostering patience, a skill I actively developed over time. Recognizing the importance of continuous growth, I’ve prioritized identifying knowledge gaps, seeking learning opportunities, and surrounding myself with a capable team to succeed. 

What is your strategic vision for RSAWEB Business, particularly in terms of fostering growth and innovation?

Our vision is clear: to remain a leading business ISP in South Africa. Leveraging RSAWEB’s strong reputation as a top business and consumer ISP, we aim to solidify our position among the top three players through proactive innovation, solution development, teamwork, and by continuously improving our customer experience.  

Our dedicated RSAWEB Business team understands our goal of industry leadership, focusing on strategic outcomes while ensuring ongoing customer involvement. Communication with customers and strategic partnerships are crucial for our success. Our commitment to innovation will ensure exciting developments in the coming months. 

In what ways do you plan to collaborate with industry professionals and thought leaders to enhance RSAWEB's position and influence within the B2B technology sector?

We have devised both internal and external programs for this purpose. Internally, we facilitate ongoing discussions within our teams to align our focus with market demands and regulations. Topics like new compliance measures and cybersecurity are tackled head-on. Our aim is to equip businesses with expert solutions they can rely on when they are facing such challenges.  

Externally, we collaborate with industry leaders, engage customers directly, and bring these discussions to the market. By being recognized as thought leaders, we not only enhance credibility but also drive meaningful conversations, elevating our industry influence. 

When fibre internet was first introduced, it was viewed as an expensive alternative to an existing internet connection. As the need for enhanced speed and reliability increased, FTTB has become a long-term investment solution to your company’s connectivity needs. Improving the customer experience goes beyond just engagement; it’s also about operational efficiency. We’re actively investing in operational enhancements, shaking up established routines for more effective delivery and interactions. 

To accomplish this, we’re testing and implementing revised processes to create a distinctive approach to business interactions. Crucially, our strategy is guided by customer feedback. We understand the importance of offering a seamless experience across the entire customer lifecycle, meeting their needs and preferences at every interaction. It’s about providing the right information at the right time. 

When you are not immersed in driving the RSAWEB Business division to greater heights, what passions, interests or activities bring you joy in life?

Outside of work, I delve into research on topics that intrigue me, like Artificial Intelligence and the psychology of human behavior. Exploring art galleries feeds my soul, as I try to understand artists’ visions. I’m an avid reader, juggling a mix of fiction and biographies.  

Living in Cape Town has heightened my love for walking, allowing me to immerse myself in its beauty and find moments of quiet. I mentor young minds, believing in investing in our future leaders. And sometimes, I embrace the Italian philosophy of “Dolce far Niente,” the sweet art of doing nothing.
