Empowering Youth in the Digital Age!

The internet has revolutionised the world we live in. To ensure the next generation thrives in this new landscape, equipping them with the necessary tools is paramount. Here at RSAWEB, we recognise the importance of investing in young people and empowering the youth by bridging the digital divide among them. This fosters a brighter future for all. Since 2015, RSAWEB has been providing schools with free internet access. We also partner with various youth-based initiatives to further enrich their lives.

RSAWEB, in partnership with our fibre providers Frogfoot, Octotel, and Vumatel, delivers internet access to over 100 schools across South Africa. This vital resource empowers students to complete assignments and access educational materials online whenever necessary.

Recognising the digital literacy gap that persists among young people, RSAWEB connectivity in schools allows for them to offer computer classes and access to online educational content. These classes equip students with the essential skills they need to navigate the digital age we live in. RSAWEB’s connectivity not only empowers students but also equips teachers with the necessary tools to integrate online systems effectively into their teaching practices, ultimately enhancing the learning experience.

Partnering with youth-focused initiatives that play a significant role in disadvantaged communities is also crucial to RSAWEB’s core mission of empowering the youth. Through these partnerships, RSAWEB has demonstrably enriched the lives of many young people.

One such initiative is The Daily Grind Hub, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to promoting economic development in underserved communities. This collaboration with The Daily Grind Hub enabled 10 young members of the Kraaifontein community to complete a 12-month coding programme, equipping them with the necessary knowledge to enter the digital entrepreneurship industry and succeed in the job market with their newly acquired coding skills.

This collaboration furthers our agenda of combating the digital divide and the digital literacy gap. It is just one of the many success stories that have emerged from our various collaborations with organisations such as Catch Trust, The Justice Desk, and Ikhaya le Langa, to name but a few.

RSAWEB’s mission is to connect as many schools as possible to the internet while also fostering ongoing partnerships with community-based organisations. This collaborative approach empowers and enriches countless individuals in the digital age. If getting your school connected interests, you, or if you have a partnership opportunity, feel free to contact us at [email protected].
