1 Devil In Ohio  

Based on the book by Daria Polatin, “Devil In Ohio”, it follows a cult escapee named Mae, who is taken in by a therapist. However, Mae’s past follows her into her new life, causing disruptions in the new family dynamics and putting all of them in harm’s way. This limited series thriller is certain to get your heart racing and evoke emotions that will keep you engaged throughout. 

 2 – Bridgerton  

From the creator of Grey’s Anatomy, the award-winning Shonda Rhimes, and based on the best-selling novel by Julia Quinn, Bridgerton is set in the early 1800s in an alternative Regency era of London high society. It follows a close-knit family of eight siblings as they attend glamorous balls throughout the London summer season, embarking on an adventure to find love. This historical romance show will surely warm your heart and make you feel as if you’re living vicariously through the characters. This comedy-drama follows two boys who, tragically, passed away prematurely. However, instead of embarking on an afterlife adventure, they remain on Earth as living ghosts. Together, they embark on a journey to solve the unsolved mysteries of the dead. But as they pursue these supernatural cases, a witch throws a spanner in the works, making their investigations a little more complicated. With laughter, moments of sadness, and a sprinkle of romance, this show is sure to leave you wanting more. With season one having just been released, this show is perfect for a good weekend of binge-watching.

5 – I’m not okay with this  

This coming-of-age show follows a high school social outcast as she navigates through the ups and downs of being a teenager. Through exploring her sexuality, her dysfunctional family, and to top it all off, she discovers she has superpowers! This show can be a bit of a rollercoaster. Despite being cancelled after 1 season, this dark comedy series will leave you laughing and feel a sense of relatability to all the characters.  

6 – The Umbrella academy 

A group of adopted child superheroes, all born on the same day and who often don’t get along, are brought together again. Forced to join forces, they must prevent the apocalypse and uncover the cause of their evil father’s death. As they work to avert disaster, each hero faces personal challenges from their past, serving as opportunities for growth and strengthening their bond.  

7 – A Soweto love story (Romcom) 

As South Africa’s highest-rated ISP, it would only be right to suggest a local film for our customers. ‘A Soweto Love Story’ follows a mother who yearns to see her three sons get married. Out of fear that they may never find wives, she puts her house up for grabs to the first son who gets married. 8 – Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Sitcom) 

Set in a Brooklyn police station, this comedy follows the daily activities of the 99th Precinct as they adjust to their new captain. Hilarious clashes erupt between the various detectives, from the laid-back yet efficient Jake Peralta to the more uptight and overachieving Amy Santiago. This surefire comedy will make you laugh and connect with the characters throughout all eight seasons, as there’s someone for everyone to enjoy. 

9 – Lucas the Spider

With its 77 episodes, Luca the Spider is perfect for when you want to keep the children entertained while you find some personal time to detox. This show follows a bubbly spider and his friends as they embark on daily adventures and get into a bit of mischief along the way. 

10 – The gentlemen 

This action-comedy series stars the dashing Theo James. A seemingly upstanding man, he unexpectedly inherits his wealthy father’s massive estate, only to discover it’s part of a large-scale illegal cannabis operation. He sets off on a mission to liberate his family from the clutches of a powerful kingpin, leading him down a path filled with twists and turns. This Guy Ritchie production was only released this year, so you’re not far out of the loop if you start watching now!
