Fibre Changes Lives: RSAWEB’s Commitment to Inclusive Connectivity
At RSAWEB, we believe that fast, reliable internet access is more than just a tool; it’s a foundation for education and lasting community upliftment.
Since 2015, we’ve proudly connected over 100 schools and NGOs across South Africa, with fibre connectivity. In partnership with fibre providers like Octotel and other FNOs (Fibre Network Operators), we’ve empowered learners and educators with the digital tools they need to learn, grow, and succeed.

Transforming Education with RSAWEB’s WiFi Connectivity
Our impact is visible in the stories we hear from educators. At Labiance Primary, the principal shared:
“Thanks to RSAWEB’s support, students can now participate in virtual classrooms, access a wider range of online resources, and develop essential digital skills needed for today’s world.”
At Grosvenor Primary, the school’s Green Shoots Maths programme relies entirely on internet access. It gives students from Grades 3 to 7 dedicated time in the lab to explore digital learning tools, expanding their opportunities beyond traditional education.
Moreover, schools have shared how internet access has improved administrative efficiency through platforms like CEMIS (Centralised Educational Management System) and PMPS (People Management Practices System), which are critical to school management. Educators are also leveraging connectivity to deliver interactive e-learning lessons that keep students engaged and motivated.

Expanding Reach Through Fibre: RSAWEB’s Community Connectivity Impact
At RSAWEB, our commitment to bridging the digital divide is reflected in the lives we touch. In Langa, the Love Life Langa Centre describes how RSAWEB’s connectivity support is making a difference:
“Your support has made a significant impact by empowering our young people to become digitally skilled. They now know how to access the internet and conduct research for school assignments.”
With this access, unemployed youth can apply for university and job opportunities online. The organisation’s after-school programme and clinic also benefit:
“Young people visiting our clinic now use the internet to research health and wellness information while they wait for services.”
These success stories demonstrate the real-world impact of reliable connectivity in fostering better educational outcomes and empowering young minds.

Beyond Connectivity, more Possibility: RSAWEB Shows Up
At RSAWEB, our mission goes beyond just bridging the digital divide, it’s about creating opportunities and supporting the people beyond the connection. While providing fibre connectivity remains at the heart of what we do, we also believe in contributing to the community in meaningful ways. That’s why we regularly contribute to and attend school events like Parents’ Breakfasts, Colour Runs, and Family Fun Days, making each moment count.
This year, we’ve taken steps to deepen our impact. In celebration of Worker’s Month, RSAWEB, in partnership with Octotel and Dr. Christopher John, hosted a Resume Writing Workshop at the Haven Night Shelter. This initiative aimed to empower residents who have transitioned out of the shelter and are actively seeking employment. To further support this, our in-house recruiter, Kent Parks, joined to offer practical interview tips and job-search guidance. The workshop specifically focused on upskilling the social workers who work closely with these residents daily.
Rather than training the residents directly, we’re equipping the social workers with practical tools and knowledge—such as resume writing, interview preparation, and job readiness support—so they can continue to guide and empower individuals in their journey toward independence.
By investing in those already making a difference, we’re creating a ripple effect of empowerment that strengthens communities from the inside out.
We remain deeply committed to growing our support, connecting more schools and communities, and helping South Africa’s youth unlock their full potential through equal access to digital opportunities. As we continue this journey, we know that meaningful change happens when we walk alongside the communities we serve. Together, we can build a more inclusive, connected future – one school, one learner, one community at a time.
