Terms and Conditions: Openserve Webstream Connect

Service Overview

  • Openserve Webstream Connect (OWSC) is a Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) service powered by Openserve.
  • The service utilises a WiFi-enabled Optical Network Terminal (ONT), eliminating the need for a separate router.

Equipment

  • The ONT and associated equipment remain the property of Openserve.
  • You are responsible for the proper care of the equipment and may not sell, move, or transfer it without Openserve’s permission.
  • If the equipment is lost, stolen, or damaged, you may be liable for replacement costs.

Upgrading to Standard Fibre

  • Upgrading to standard Openserve Fibre requires the replacement of the ONT.
  • RSAWEB will provide a free rental router as part of the upgrade. Please note, standard courier fees will apply.

Installation and Fees

  • Installation typically takes 2–3 weeks in active areas; however, this timeframe is not guaranteed.
  • Standard installation includes the first 8 meters of trenching. Additional trenching costs between R180 and R220 per meter.
  • RSAWEB covers the initial setup fee. However, if your service is cancelled for any reason or it is suspended due to non-payment, the setup fee will be charged back to you.

Cancellation

  • A calendar month’s notice is required for cancellations.
  • Cancellations must be submitted via a support ticket, and a cancellation form must be completed.

Fair Usage Policy (FUP)

  • Openserve may take action if your usage negatively affects the network or other services.
  • Corrective measures may include usage restrictions or termination of service.
  • Openserve will provide reasonable notice before any action is taken.

Liability

  • RSAWEB is not liable for delays, service faults, or interruptions caused by Openserve’s network.
  • Any issues related to the equipment or service must be reported directly to Openserve.

Changes to Terms

  • RSAWEB reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Where necessary, you will be notified in advance of any changes.
